Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation has the goal to restore a patient’s functional ability and quality of life within the limitations placed upon them due to diseases or injuries.

This is what we are working towards since the early 60s in Vintersol. Together with our medical team and health experts we have created different rehabilitation programmes. We understand that every patient and clinical picture requires different therapeutic approaches and methods. Upon arrival patients will have a consultation with our doctors to ensure the programme chosen is according to the patient’s needs. Our programmes are based on weekly schedules and usually last three to four weeks.

They consist of varied practices and usually include individual and group physiotherapy and occupational therapy, exercises in the gym and pool and several outdoor exercise classes to improve function and stimulate mobility.

Depending on the pathology, sessions with other health experts like our Neurologist, Neurophysiologist or Physiologist are available.

We also find that the social aspect should not be forgotten. Family support is an essential part of the rehabilitation process, we provide family members with information and tools to be able to support and collaborate during the rehabilitation programme and at home. Group trainings and leisure activities allow patients to socialise and share their experiences and thoughts with people in similar circumstances.

All our rehabilitation programmes are also available for outpatients through our Policlinic.

A typical day at Vintersol

We offer about 8-12 different group sessions daily (Mon – Fri). Depending on the rehabilitation programme the patients are free to choose which group sessions to attend.

Evenings are free for the patients to enjoy. Patients have the option to socialise in our communal areas, to participate in activities and games organised by our entertainment staff or to relax in our library or TV rooms. Most patients also enjoy a visit to the town centre of Los Cristianos which is in close proximity to Vintersol or a walk along the promenade.
